BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST
Gerard Millet (b. 1991, Barcelona, Spain) is a Spanish painter, illustrator, educator, and contemporary realist working in the tradition of classical academic realism. He began his artistic education in professional illustration at Escola d'Art La Llotja in Barcelona before continuing his studies at the Barcelona Academy of Art, where he graduated from the Drawing and Painting Program in 2018.
 
Following his graduation, Millet taught for three years at the Academy of Fine Arts Germany, where he shared his passion for classical drawing and painting with aspiring artists from around the world.
 
He later returned to Barcelona to found LaSEU – Academia de Arte, where he serves as both director and instructor. Through his academy, he is dedicated to preserving and advancing the principles of academic art while mentoring the next generation of artists.
 
Alongside his teaching career, Gerard maintains an active studio practice, creating works distinguished by refined draftsmanship, expressive realism, and a contemporary interpretation of the classical painting tradition. His work reflects a profound understanding of form, light, and anatomy, combined with a sensitive and personal artistic vision that bridges the timeless values of classical art with a modern perspective.
