Identity is often understood as something fixed, as the true inner core of a person. In the painting, the face is covered by blurred layers that make the figure indistinct. The portrait remains recognizable, yet it is no longer stable. The work presents identity as something formed through ambiguous ideas, roles and images. A small sign in the background suggests a process of interpretation that begins somewhere but never truly ends.
