Sergei Komiagin
Sergei Komiagin (born 1970, Smolensk region, Russia) is a painter known for his expressive portraits that explore emotion through facial expression and bodily movement. He graduated in Fine Arts from Smolensk State University in 1993 and currently lives and works in Svetlogorsk, in the Kaliningrad region.
Deeply influenced by sports and music, Komiagin’s practice is characterized by dynamic compositions that verge on abstraction, capturing intensity, rhythm, and psychological presence. Sergei Komiagin has been represented by Toolip Art Gallery since 2024.
The gallery presents a selection of his portraits, where gestural brushwork and fragmented forms convey raw emotion and movement, situating the human figure at the intersection of figuration and abstraction.
