I begin this piece, the first in the Beyond the Human cycle, with a hand-drawn sketch on the canvas, letting the forms and composition emerge organically. I paid particular attention to the human figure, refining facial expressions and gestures to capture presence, emotion, and agency. This human vitality is set against the mechanical forms of the machine he has created, evoking the tension between creator and creation. Like a modern echo of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the work reflects on the ethical and existential consequences of technological creation, on the fragile boundary between life and artifice, and on what it means to preserve humanity in a world increasingly shared with machines. Layers of oil paint are built and refined, and Liquin is applied for glazing and luminosity, creating a polished surface that unifies composition and meaning.

“Your tender Machinery Heart “ unfolds like a body diagram translated into feeling - an interface where flesh, circuitry, and memory share the same skin. A silhouetted form drifts across the surface, neither fully human nor fully mechanical, as if caught mid-calibration. Soft pools of milky light hover in the center like organs, moons, or warning indicators - signals that refuse a single interpretation. Around them, blocks of high voltage magenta, red, and coal-black behave like architecture: supports, interruptions, borders you can almost lean against.
The painting’s tenderness doesn’t come from softness alone, but from tension - between translucent washes and decisive, industrial strokes; between exposure and protection. A sweeping red arc reads as both embrace and restraint, a safety belt or a wound dressed in color. Pale blues and creams offer brief oxygen, while scraped marks and layered residues suggest repeated revisions - an image built, tested, repaired.
