DESCRIPTION
"The Delights of the Satyr" captures a moment of profound ambivalence, hovering between mythological echo and modern apathy. It portrays the daughter of the "King of Aesthetes," defined by an eternal boredom. This boredom manifests as a trance-like state—almost "saudadisch" (a deep, melancholic longing)—veering between pleasurable surrender and silent suffering. In her encounter with the satyr, the boundaries blur: seduction becomes a burden, and repulsion turns into an aesthetic experience. The work is a portrait of a soul that, amidst an abundance of beauty, has lost the capacity for genuine feeling and seeks a lost intensity within the realm of pain.
