DESCRIPTION
This painting reflects a period of uncertainty and vulnerability following a nerve injury in my hand. The figure appears peaceful at first glance, yet her curled position suggests physical pain and emotional tension. The creased duvet cover symbolises the knot of pain and fear while the sunflowers are a subtle symbol of hope and strength to think positively despite the circumstances. It explores the fragile relationship between the body and mind, in form of the fear of not being able to paint again.
