DESCRIPTION
The Passion is a hyperrealistic self-portrait executed in acrylic and oil.
The painting depicts a woman consumed by longing, yearning deeply to be with her beloved. Within her burns a volcano of intense desire and emotion. Yet her gaze also reveals the awareness that her choices will lead to regret. This inner conflict is symbolized by the honey tears flowing from her eyes.
To achieve the luminous, hyperrealistic effect, the artist covered her face and body with real honey before painting the work, allowing the natural sheen and texture to enhance the realism of the composition.
