DESCRIPTION
The painting “lacrimosa” is inspired by Mozart’s Requiem, a work that for me represents one of the most beautiful and at the same time saddest compositions ever written. Its music reflects suffering, death, and grief, while at the same time conveying a deep sense of hope, renewal, and transcendence. The figure in the painting bears the burden of grief, yet reaches out for something beyond the visible world. Reaches for the promise of being held, of overcoming the present pain and entering a place where hurt dissolves into a quiet red radiance. It is a visual prayer for transformation.
