DESCRIPTION
I Love You Dad! is a small painting about a distance too large for a child to understand. A family is drawn on a misted window: simple stick figures, fragile and almost childish, standing on the inside of the glass. Beyond the window, a lone male silhouette appears outside — blurred, heavy, unreachable. The work does not define whether the father is absent, lost, excluded, dead, or simply emotionally unavailable. It holds the moment before explanation, where love remains clearer than circumstance. The painting speaks about the way children preserve people through symbols. A few lines on glass can become a family portrait; a blurred figure can become a whole unresolved story. The window becomes both a surface of memory and a barrier: it allows the child to see, but not to reach. The work is intentionally quiet. Its emotional force lies not in drama, but in restraint — in the tenderness of a message that may never be received, yet still needs to be written: I love you, Dad.
