Fine to strong structures are modeled , which give the work the character. The canvas, the original source material becomes the focus of the work."
 
BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST
Marina Anton (b. 1960, Wiener Neustadt, Austria) is an Austrian contemporary artist known for her distinctive abstract works, which she describes as “Abstractures.” After studying business administration in Vienna, she devoted herself to painting, working in oil and acrylic from her studio in Zwettl, Lower Austria, since 1989.
Over the years, Anton evolved from figurative painting toward a highly personal abstract language in which structure, texture, and relief play a central role. Inspired by natural forms, sculptural surfaces, and the drapery found in classical painting, she transforms the canvas itself into an active element of the artwork, exploring the relationship between light, shadow, and materiality.
 
Since 2001, her work has been presented in numerous international exhibitions and art fairs, including Art Beijing, Red Dot Miami, Artfair Innsbruck, and exhibitions in Germany, Italy, and Austria. Marina Anton is a member of the Lower Austrian Cultural Network and has participated in the annual Open Studio Days since 2006.
