Elena Shumakher

Elena Shumakher (born 1969, Tula region, Russia) is a contemporary painter living and working in Svetlogorsk, in the Kaliningrad region. She graduated from the Department of Arts at Smolensk State University in 1993 and has been painting professionally since 2008. Over the course of her career, she has held more than 30 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous international exhibitions and symposia.

Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Shumakher draws inspiration from expressionism, abstraction, and postmodernism. Her distinctive visual language combines figurative and abstract elements, using color, texture, and silhouette to convey emotional states rather than literal narratives. Elena Shumakher has been represented by Toolip Art Gallery since 2024.
