Jana 1705 is a masterpiece made by the Catalan artist Adela Beltran.

BIO

Adela Beltran Sancho, Alcanar 1973, Catalonia

Artist and Graphic designer trained in Barcelona.

She studied different artistic techniques and the methodology of the classical tradition, using points of view from different countries and academies from the XIX century to represent women who were less time-conscious. Her technique is marked by her language and an alphabet of symbols.

The use of oil, acrylic, wax, paper, rabbit glue… and different supports such as wood, linen, cotton, or printed materials helps to interpret the information that the artist wants to express.

Through all physical material, she interprets her thoughts, intending to make thousands of unknown women from our past, women who have been strong, brave, and empowered, women who are genetically part of today, visible and heard.

They continuously used the elements transferred from the past to the present, giving women the current importance they did not have in their time.

All people who feel like women are represented in the series “Women of the 1700s”.

Adela has held individual and group exhibitions in public spaces and works in private collections and foundations.
