DESCRIPTION
The terrific “Homoaquaticus” represents human as a sculpture in nature.
The cycle of paintings “Human as a sculpture in Nature” escapes into the future. It shows human figures in futuristic world where we are absorbed by nature. We are integral part of it.
We do not dominate. We do not destroy. Paintings comments on the lack of respect for nature and shows that our further actions will make humans just a sculpture in the landscape.
Exploring the captivating collection by Paulina Wojewodzic, one is immediately transported into a world where the boundaries between humanity and nature are not just blurred but beautifully merged.
Each piece in this collection is a testament to the transformative power of art, inviting viewers to reimagine the world where humans exist not as dominant figures, but as integral, sculptural elements within the tapestry of nature.
In her art, the artist focuses on women as symbols of the quest for freedom—both nature's freedom and human freedom. Her works explore the tension between confinement and liberation.
She employs a monochromatic color palette, subtly enriched with highlights of other colors, to emphasize the complexity of freedom. This choice illustrates that freedom has many layers. Through the contrast of light and dark, the artist encourages viewers to reflect on fleeting moments of true freedom.
Her goal is to stimulate thought about what freedom means in our lives and the natural world. The artist aims to depict nature subjugating humanity, yet she does so while preserving the illusion of freedom.

BIOGRAPHY
Paulina Wojewodzic, born in December 1992 in Wrocław, Poland, lives and works in Poland and Tenerife, in the Canary Islands (Spain).
She completed postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, specializing in Artistic Disciplines in Architecture, and continues her painting specialization in the studio of Professor Anna Maria Kramm.
In 2011, she graduated from the University of Information Technology in Wrocław with a degree in Computer Graphics Engineering. For 12 years, she primarily trained in drawing, then in ink illustration, for which she wrote her diploma thesis, combining manual design with laser engraving.
Currently, the artist is working on three series: "Incarnations" started in 2021, "My Fridas" from 2022, and "Human as Sculpture in Nature" from 2023. The "Human as Sculpture in Nature" series began in 2023 in Menorca, Spain, where she participated in a mentorship program with art masters such as Guillermo Lorca, Lita Cabellut, and Ryan Heshka.
The artist is deeply inspired by surrealists like Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, and Max Ernst, whose dreamlike images and innovative techniques inspire her to blur the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
In her work, the artist is primarily guided by the figure of the woman and the feeling of freedom. She finds inspiration in words—words caught during conversations, sentences picked from classical and contemporary literature.
She deeply believes that words have a power akin to spells. Her paintings address how we, as humans, have enslaved the nature around us and ourselves. The artist works in series, using oil and acrylic techniques.
