The impressive E 109 has been selected as a finalist in the 3rd Toolip International Art Contest.
Abstract Paintings straight from the artist's studio, Orfey Grünberg. These multi-layered acrylic paintings were created with big palette knives, brushes, and squeegees for a rich and varied texture. Some of the lower layers of paint remain visible, which gives the painting depth and three-dimensionality.
 
BIOGRAPHY
Orfey Grünberg is an abstract artist born in 1964 in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he lives and works.
He received an engineering (HCTU-Sofia) and art private education.
He also works successfully in the field of industrial design, but abstract painting is his primary way of self-utterance.
In his paintings , he uses abstract painting as a way of expression where he synthesizes emotions by emphasizing the colors and texture of the paints.
His works are distinguished by the multi-layered and volume of the compositions , combining the colors from the palette. The three-dimensional effect in the paintings adds a feeling of uniqueness.
He works mainly with acrylic and oil paints on canvas.
His paintings are in private collections in Europe and Asia and his hundreds of industrial designs have sold in the tens of millions worldwide.
 
Art statement
My painting is abstract, spontaneous, intuitive and unplanned. It always comes from the soul and heart. Expresses Emotions through the emphasis on colors and texture. I call my paintings E...(Emotion).
I use different sizes palette knives for painting with acrylic or oil paints on canvas.
I would compare the colors from the palette to the musical notes, which, in a particular order (or rather disorder), create a harmonious sound and convey my emotions and positive energy, making you feel happy.
Cristian Jaquel, Claude Monet, and especially Gerhard Richter have exceptionally influenced my technique and way of expression.
