DESCRIPTION
Dryads in ancient Greek mythology are forest nymphs and tree spirits embodying the unity of nature and feminine essence.
They personify gentleness, grace, and mystery, forming an inseparable part of the woodland realm. In the painting "Dryad," Sergei Komiagin uses this mythological image to deeply explore the theme of femininity and its connection to nature.
The figure of the woman is depicted with smooth, organic lines that harmonize with the surrounding elements, creating a sense of blending with the natural world.
Through this connection, the artist emphasizes the idea that femininity is not only about physical beauty but also inner strength, authenticity, and rootedness in the world.
